Non si tratta peraltro di voler invocare un banale nuovismo, gettando al vento, oltre alla zavorra, anche quanto di buono è opportuno ereditare dalle culture politiche che ci stanno alle spalle.
La questione è infatti molto più significativa se si pensi alle palesi e numerose contraddizioni che da tempo attanagliano il Pse, senza dimenticare che storicamente quest’ultimo ha spesso arrancato per (cercare di) stare al passo con l’Uedc, prima, e il Ppe, poi, nel tracciare la strada verso l’integrazione europea.
Come non ricordare che sul tema della Costituzione europea, cioè l’ultima tappa – non esaltante ma necessaria – per il progresso dell’integrazione comunitaria, se si eccettuano le estreme del parlamento europeo, i maggiori paradossi sono venuti proprio dalla posizione della famiglia eurosocialista, che porta su di sé, ad esempio, la (co)responsabilità dell’esito del referendum francese del 2005 o la mancata ratifica britannica ai tempi di Blair ? Quello stesso Blair, da molti in Italia additato come modello policy to follow, schieratosi right now next to American unilateralism of Bush when it came to (then in the manner that we have seen) the node Iraq.
